The Hidden Genius Project Set to Serve Students Across Three Continents
Oakland-based youth empowerment organization The Hidden Genius Project, in partnership with TEAM Inc., and Oakland Natives Give Back, will be traveling to London, UK to host their engaging and innovative Tech Slam program for more than 300 youth of color at Chelsea FC Stadium. Following a week of innovative workshops, they will continue on to South Africa to host a second Tech Slam to local students at the University of Pretoria in partnership with LEAP Schools. This international trip is scheduled from October 7 to October 19, 2019.

2019 INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
FROM THE TOWN TO THE UK
October 7 – 11, 2019
This dynamic international experience will inspire and expose more than 150 UK students of color to opportunities in technology, in partnership with Uber, Aon, United and Chelsea FC Foundation (England’s professional soccer league). Following Tech Slam UK, The Hidden Genius Project will team up with Colorintech to deliver programming to 150+ high school students of color at their ColorCode event.
GENIUS IN SOUTH AFRICA
October 13 – 19, 2019
The Hidden Genius Project, TEAM Inc., and Oakland Natives Give Back will continue on to Johannesburg and Pretoria in South Africa to knowledge share and lead mini-workshops with 100+ young people and local schools and nonprofits in partnership with LEAP schools. After the workshop series, The Hidden Genius Project and partnering organizations will host a second Tech Slam at the University of Pretoria with 100+ students of color.
