Earlier this month, our Genius Founders started the Technology Phase in our Alumni Venture Seed Fund. In this phase, our young men began to learn ‘how to get products and features built’ by following the five steps of the Software Development Lifecycle. Over the next few weeks, our founders will learn about the latest technological tools and processes to help with product design, and developing a Minimum Viable Product.
GENIUSES KEY TAKEAWAYS
Kevin Butler, OAK4 Hidden Genius Alum
“With the support of my phase coach, I have started the process of developing my product and identifying my tech stack.”
Ian Bundy-Weiss, OAK5 Hidden Genius Alum
“This was my first time learning about Scrum, agile, and code sprints. All of these concepts will help me organize, develop, and refine my product.”
Ndene Diallo, OAK5 Hidden Genius Alum
“I understand that I need to trust my gut and the process. No one is asking for a perfect project right out the gate, they just want to see what you said it would do.”
Jayden Cummings, RICH2 Hidden Genius Alum
“On the product side of my business, I’ve learned how to effectively communicate the technological goals of my projects using wireframes and flowcharts.”
Desmond Paré, OAK3 Hidden Genius Alum
“On a few occasions, I’ve had to go back to the drawing board to figure out which programming language best suits my application. I’m constantly checking in with my phase coach to help me get a better understanding of what I’m trying to develop and how.”
