This past September and October, we’ve hosted five End of Summer Celebrations across our Bay Area, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago regions highlighting the tremendous achievements of our Oakland, Richmond, CA, Detroit, Los Angeles, and inaugural Chicago and Atlanta cohorts (OAK10 Black, OAK10 Gold, OAK11 Black, OAK11 Gold, RICH6, RICH7, DET1, DET2, LA3, LA4, ATL1, and CHI1).
Energized by enthusiastic event attendees featuring friends, family, community partners, and generous sponsors, all of our Geniuses shined as they showcased at our 2023 End of Summer Celebrations. BAY AREA 2023 CELEBRATION
On Thursday, September 21, over 400 guests consisting of community members, family, friends, and supporters gathered in Jack London Square to celebrate our Oakland and Richmond, CA Geniuses in the Bay Area. Throughout the night our Geniuses fed off the energy of our community as they shared their aspirations for what they hope to achieve in the near future based on the skills and lessons they’ve learned in our program.
DETROIT 2023 CELEBRATION
On Tuesday, September 26, nearly 200 guests convened right in the heart of Detroit to celebrate our Detroit Geniuses at their second-ever End of Summer Celebration. Congratulations to our inaugural Detroit cohort (DET1) for completing our 15-month program. At the end of this event, our Detroit Site Director, William Malcolm surprised our DET1 Geniuses for their hard work with special Air Force 1 shoes thanks to the generosity of StockX.
CHICAGO 2023 CELEBRATION
On Thursday, September 28, we celebrated our inaugural Chicago cohort (CHI1) for completing their first summer in our program. During this event, our Chicago Geniuses proudly showcased their projects and reflected on their experience in our program. We look forward to seeing CHI1 continue to grow and learn with the support of our team and the greater community.
ATLANTA 2023 CELEBRATION
On Tuesday, October 3, our inaugural Atlanta cohort (ATL1) impressed our community by showcasing their project from their first summer of our Intensive Immersion Program. From kickstarted business ventures to beautifully crafted websites, our Geniuses work tirelessly in our program and we couldn’t be more proud. Congrats Atlanta Geniuses, we look forward to seeing ATL1 continue to grow and learn with the support of our team and the greater community.
LOS ANGELES 2023 CELEBRATION
On Thursday, October 5, our friends, family, and community gathered to witness the greatness of our Los Angeles cohort (LA3 and LA4) for completing our 2023 Immersion Programming summer session. Over 300 guests had the opportunity to engage with our Geniuses and their incredible projects, which our Black boys and young men proudly showcased. This was another great year for our Los Angeles cohorts and we look forward to seeing the amazing things they accomplish in the future.
